Tonight is the Super Worm Moon! But what does that mean?
A supermoon is when the moon is closet to the earth which results in a moon that looks 7% larger and brighter in the night sky. In 2020, we will have three super moons; March, April and May!

WHATS THE WORM MOON?
Worm Moon is the name given by Native American Tribes that was meant to signal the time worms come out of dormancy which is generally in spring.

WHERE TO HIKE?
The best place to enjoy a full moon is away from the city lights and in a remote area with a clear view of the night sky – particularly in the eastern locations if you’re looking to watch a moonrise.

WHAT TO BRING?
While a full moon lights up the night sky leaving hikes the option to hike without lighting, it is always a wise idea to bring lights/headlamps while hiking anywhere at night. Bring a buddy or two, water, layers, and a full charge on your phone in case you need to make an emergency call.
